Pressing Past Anger and Unforgiveness--Part 2

Make up your mind and don't change it.  Even when coming up against the pressure...

Proverbs 29:11
Don't repress anger, but deal with it with God effectively.

Our REAL life is what goes on inside of us.  And our problems WILL come out in some form--addictions, overeating, depression, etc etc.

Matthew 5:10-16

You get to know God during your hard times, not your good times.  Do not dislike your bad times--they are valuable.

Job 42:8-10

Pressing Past Anger and Unforgiveness--Part 1

2 Timothy 4:17

Being mad and miserable only hurts yourself, not the other person (people).

When your spirit and soul and mind gets full of anger and bitterness, YOU CANNOT GROW SPIRITUALLY.

No matter how we feel, we can still choose to do the right thing.

Acts 7:59

Instead of getting mad at people, maybe we ought to try to understand where they are coming from--where their pain is coming from.

When we're hurt, we want to place blame.  If you get mad, it needs to be at the Devil.  The way to get him back is to do good all the time.

Romans 12:21
"Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Deut 8:2; Gal 6:10; Acts 10:38; Eph 4:26--"When you're angry, do not sin."

Celebration of Prayer

Faith fuels prayer--Matt 21:22

The less you talk about problems, the less you'll have--Phil 4:6-8

Don't pray, and then say something that makes it sound like you DON'T pray.
Don't pray out of religious duty.

Set yourself to believe God is working. When you don't "feel" Him, that's when He's likely working on it.

James 4:2
If it's right for us and right timing, He will answer.  Sometimes God answers and it's not the way we expect.

Matthew 7:7
If you're going to complain about something, don't bother praying for it.

Psalm 107:20
John 10:10

If you can't grasp it with your heart, start by saying it with your mouth.

Dressed for Battle--Part 2

Job:14
1 Samuel 17:38
Cannot defeat the devil with somebody else's armor on just like David could not fight Goliath with King Saul's armor.

Everything God gives you (Spiritual gifts, etc), is supposed to flow thought you and into other people.  Ex.  Receive kindness, give it.  List goes on and on...

Eph 6:11-17
Romans 8:1
John 14:27

Take as much time getting dressed spiritually as we do physically, and we won't have near as much trouble.

Armor of God:  Eph 14-18

Pieces:
Shoes of Peace
Helmet of Salvation
Breastplate of Righteousness
Belt of Truth
Shield of Faith
Sword of the Spirit
Pray at all times!!!

Dressed for Battle--Part 1

We are in a war--and the mind is the battlefield.

"Get thee behind me, Satan."  Start acting like a soldier in the army of God.

We have to wear our armor and have to know how to use our weapons.

Revelation 16:15

We have on a set of Spiritual Clothes--those are the clothes we need to guard.

Intentionality--need to do things on PURPOSE.

Col. 3:12--"put on behavior"--decide ahead of time and ask God to help.

Eph 4:22-24; 2 Cor 5:17; Eph 4:24-26; Judges 6:34; Job 29:14-16

One Life--Part 2

God will never tell you to do anything that will not work for your good.

No matter what God does for you, you must learn to think differently.  Feelings will start to change with different thinking.  Romans 12:2

God puts a seed of greatness in everyone :)

"Help my unbelief..."

We believe more of what we say to ourselves than what others say to us.

One Life--Part 1

False sense of responsibility--always think you are responsible for others' problems.

Biggest "black eye" to the devil is to give God your PAIN and allow Him to turn it into GAIN.
